Helpcode Nepal’s Agricultural Program Empowers Farmers in Chitwan and Makawanpur Districts for Sustainable Development
At Helpcode Nepal, our mission is to empower communities and promote sustainable development. One of our primary areas of focus is supporting farmers in marginalized communities through various programs.
In June, we provided tunnel support to Mrs. Bhagawati Chepang, a female living in the Chepang community. This program aimed to equip farmers with the necessary resources to generate income and become financially independent. In addition to tunnel support, farmers in Chitwan and Makawanpur also received seasonal seeds such as tomatoes and cucumbers.
As part of our agricultural program, we distributed tomato seeds to three farmers in Manahari RM. We plan to provide bean seeds, coriander, and more tomato seeds to farmers in Ichchhakamana RM in July 2022. These programs are designed to provide farmers with an income source and help them become economically sound.
At HELPCODE Nepal, we believe that technical support and monitoring are crucial to the success of these programs. Our technical staff visited Nay Basti-Makawanpur to sketch a drawing for tunnel designing and trained farmers on developing the tunnel. We also provided agro-technical support to help farmers with planting cash crops and protecting them from insects and viruses. The Ward Chairperson of Manahari RM-4 was present to monitor the field.
Our farmers support programs aim to empower farmers and their communities. We believe that by providing farmers with the necessary resources and knowledge, they can become self-sufficient and financially independent. In the long run, this can help lift marginalized communities out of poverty and create a more sustainable future.
In conclusion, at Helpcode Nepal, we are committed to supporting communities through sustainable agriculture. Our farmers support programs are an excellent example of how organizations can empower communities and create a better future for all.
