Help Cooperation for Development Nepal ( Helpcode Nepal -HCN) is a non-profit organization established in 2016 with the objective of supporting underpriviledged and marginalized children and communities in Nepal, including Dalits, indigenous peoples and other disadvantages groups. HCN operates as part of the wider Helpcode Network and builds upon the longstanding experience and engagement of CCS Italy, an international NGO that worked in Nepal for approximately 15 years and subsequently became part of the Helpcode International Network. Helpcode International continues to provide support to Helpcode Nepal, together with Helpcode Switzerland.
HCN works in the areas of education, health, agriculture, environment and arts and culture, with a particular emphasis on strengthening local institutions, promoting coordination with government authorities and other stakeholders and enhancing the cpacities of communities and partner organizations. The organization also provides training and support for income-generating activities, organizational development, institutional strengthening and capacity building.
The primary focus of HCN is to improve access to and the quality of education and health services for targeted and disadvantages populations, particularly children and vulnerable communities. In addition, HCN responds to natural disaters and emergencies by providing relief and recovery support to affected communities and children. Its intervations also include health and hygiene awareness, development and dissemination of Information, Education and Communication (IEC) materials, scholarships and educational support and awareness programmes on child rights, child protection, gender equality and other issues affecting children and vulnerable groups.
Though these interventions, HCN seeks to contribute to the suitable improvement of the well-being, protection, education, health and overall development of children and marginalized communities in Nepal, while strengthening local capacity and promoting inclusive and community-led development.
Helpcode Nepal is committed to promoting the well-being of children in Nepal through its work in four thematic areas:

HCN has been conducting education, health, and sponsorship programs in Makwanpur, Chitwan and Kathmandu, working in cooperation with government bodies such as Municipality, Municipality Education Desk, Health Desk, School, School Management Committees (SMCs) and Child Clubs, among others.
Helpcode Nepal strives for a coordinated, effective, and sustained approach which epitomizes bottom-up approach as well as the domestication of international standards regarding children and human rights to ensure a holistic and long-term development in the area of its interventions. We believe in inclusive sustainable participative developments which enlarge beneficiaries’ choice and engage all the stakeholders to create a constructive environment and conditions for a real change that does not leave anybody behind.

Education: Helpcode Nepal recognizes education as a human right and is committed to promoting education rights and advancing alternative paradigms of education. HCN focuses on a holistic approach to child development, ensuring not only basic needs are met but also addressing the educational system, national plans on education, and economic and human gaps.
Marginalized Communities & Disadvantages Ethnic Groups: Helpcode Nepal’s vision is to shift the current education paradigm to contribute to social, economic and social justice. HCN concentrates its efforts towards marginalized and disadvantaged communities, ethnic groups and castes within Nepal, believing that equity and an inclusive approach pave the way to social justice and the harmonization of the social fabric.
Gender Equality and the Girl’s Rights: Helpcode Nepal believes in a transformative pattern and the elimination of harmful practices, such as child marriage and gender-based violence, through specific focus on girls’ empowerment, within the educational system and towards the social environment. HCN engages child-clubs and trains them to harness the power of youth as agents of change.
Poverty Reduction, Human and Economic: Helpcode Nepal promotes income generation activities, customized and based on local analysis, child-friendly spaces, decent school facilities and infrastructure to reduce school dropout, mitigate povert, and its consequences on children’s capabilities and girls’ empowerment. HCN also addresses behavioral changes with a focus on discriminative normative and social schemas, which prevent girls from attaining a proper education and increase the level of malnutrition.
Emergency and Humanitarian Response: Helpcode Nepal provides immediate relief to affected communities during natural disasters and climate change. HCN focuses on child protection, education in emergency, food and non-food items, and protecting the dignity of girls in its humanitarian response efforts.
